The Cock cried Crow “Fetch your sleeping bag let’s go, drink in all the wonderment with those eyes of cobalt blue”.
Out of breath on a gravel track with the moonlight complimenting cheekbones as it draws back the inquisitive heads, their hungry eyes staring up at the great temperamental Mother.
I lived through the people, with the people and as the people In these songs, have been guided and have been the guide. I have been enraged by passion, bludgeoned by self-doubt, embraced by lust in the belly of fear. I’ve been dressed in women’s clothing for to the keep the cold at bay whilst wrapped in the limbs of another transient for just one perfect moment, for just one pregnant breath until the relentlessness of time brought forth change in the forms of promise, decay and rebirth.
I have travelled through the psyche of the man in me, the woman in me and the child in me, each in need of protection, each innocent and guilty of everything and nothing, listened as they spoke.
I lit a candle to harbor a flame and made my way towards the Citadel.
I ran out of matches more than four times but at every seemingly despairing occurrence I was saved by the torchlight of another’s soul which tattooed the darkness and taking me by the hand we headed North, whistling for fun when necessary in acts of solidarity.
This is a body of song
From the mind of a man
With the soul of a woman
And the spirit of a child
This is a journey into the ivory womb of intimacy, of friendship and unity which belongs to us all, which was written for us all, which pines for us all and us for it.
To be embraced, to be shunned, to reveal and expose, to act as a companion in times of need.
This is our story as it stands, though should we not be graced with the chance to tell another let this be the evidence that we once loved liked mad, lost like mad, laughed like mad, cried like mad.
Let this be the document in which we were brave and embraced our deepest fears and misgivings in which we celebrated all of ourselves and arose from the mire of self-pity, united and ready to kick down the walls of timidity and apathy!
Let this be the evidence that we once existed, no
let this be the Evidence that we once Lived! X
